The Advantages of TiC Material
About TiC
When it comes to TiC, we know that it is an excellent material being applied in carbide cemented manufacturing.
Titanium carbide TiC has many characteristics and has been ensuring its demand in the industry for many years. Mainly has high hardness, fire resistance, high melting point, high wear resistance and good thermal conductivity.
Titanium carbide (TiC) is an extremely hard metal carbide (Mohs hardness 9-9.5). Because of its high hardness and stable chemical properties (insoluble in water, soluble in nitric acid), it is used in the manufacture of cements, heat-resistant alloys and cemented carbides, as well as a wide range of industrial applications such as deoxidizers in the steelmaking industry.
The properties of titanium carbide are similar to tungsten carbide, it can form TiC-WC solid solution with it, and can improve the heat resistance, wear resistance, oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance and other properties of WC-Co alloys.
Its elastic modulus is about 400GPa, and its sheer modulus is about 188GPa.
As titanium alloys are a stronger and harder material, they present unique cutting challenges, which are best solved by carbide blades. The use of carbide band saw blades can not only successfully cut titanium alloys, but also provide longer blade life and faster cutting speeds.
Cemented carbide has high hardness, strength, wear-resistance and corrosion resistance, and is known as "industrial teeth". TiC is used to manufacture cutting tools, knives, drilling tools and wear-resistant parts, and is widely used in military, aerospace and aviation , Mechanical processing, metallurgy, oil drilling, mining tools, electronic communications, construction and other fields, with the development of downstream industries, the market demand for cemented carbide like TiC continues to increase. And in the future, the manufacturing of high-tech weapons and equipment, advances in cutting-edge science and technology, and the rapid development of nuclear energy will greatly increase the demand for high-tech and high-quality and stable cemented carbide (TiC) products.
